V S Achuthanandan Received “Man Of Vision Award” At The 10th Pravasi Bharathi Celebrations
10th Pravasi Bharathi Day Celebrations were held at Gandhi Park, Trivandrum | By Yentha

Trivandrum: The 10th Pravasi Bharathi Day Celebrations were held here from 9 - 11 January, 2012. The celebrations were inaugurated on January 9 at Gandhi Park, by N Sakthan, Deputy Speaker of Kerala Legislative Assembly. At the valedictory function, political and social leaders, NRIs, businessmen, educationalists and artists were honoured with Pravasi Bharathi (Kerala) awards.

 
Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan graced the occasion as Chief Guest and was also named recipient of this year’s Pravasi Bharathi (Kerala) “Man of Vision Award”. Cheriyan Philip, Kayikkara Babu, S Ahamed, Talhat Poovachal, Saju Edakkadu, Kadakkal Ramesh, I VP rabhakaran, Parippally Sugathan and M H M Hashim, Kollam were present at the function. The inaugural ceremony was followed by entertainment programs.

On the second day, a seminar on “Pravasi Pension and Rehabilitation” was inaugurated by Minister M K Muneer at Harmony Hall at Mascot Hotel. Former ministers M M Hassan, C Divakaran and former MP Pannyan Raveendran, G Maheen Aboobaker, S Suvarnakumar, Hantex MD  Abdul Haleem , Saji Edakkadu (Dubai), Sageer Trikarpur (Kuwait), Kalapremi Basheer Babu and I V Prabahakaran participated in the seminar.

The valedictory function and award distribution was inaugurated on the last day by Tourism Minister A P Anilkumar in the presence of Prof  T J Chandrachoodan, Abdurahman Randathani MLA, former minister V Surendran Pillai, Mayor Adv K Chandrika, Karamana Jayan and other dignitaries from different parts of the world. The “Man of the Vision Award” was presented by Deputy Speaker N Sakthan to V S Achuthanandan.
