State School IT Fest At Technopark
Around 300 students across the state participate in the 10th edition of IT Fest

Trivandrum: The State School IT Fest began at Technopark here on February 1. The inauguration of the fest was cancelled to pay homage to the Kerala Governor who passed away recently. The IT Fest intends to provide a platform for the students to exhibit their talents and to explore various streams in Information Technology.

 

 

Around 300 students across the state who won prizes in the sub district level competition are attending the IT Fest. The festival is organised by the Education Department in association with IT@School.

 

On the first day, Malayalam Typing, IT Project, Multi Media Presentation and Digital Painting were held in the morning. Satheesh Babu, Director of ICTOSS, spoke on 'Emerging Trends in Mobile Computing’ and Achutshankar S Nair from Centre for Bio informatics led an interactive session on 'Green Computing' in the afternoon.

 

Today there will be IT Quiz and prize distribution for the winners. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will attend the valedictory function along with Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb.

 



This fest which began in 2003 is now being organised in the form of an IT camp where the students can interact with well-known personalities in the IT field.
