Trivandrum: The 35th National Games won’t be restricted to the stadiums alone. The organizers have planned a cultural treat for the state guests. Days at the Games are filled with programmes at all seven districts that are hosting the Games.

Trivandrum, hosting most of the events will have two venues - at the Games Village in Menamkulam and at the Nishangandhi Auditorium.

“Programmes have been planned on all days till Feb 14 featuring celebrities like K Omanakutty, Umbayi, Shahabaz Aman, Pandit Ramesh Narayan, Manjari, Gayathri, Gopinath Muthukad and Mohammed Aslam. Sports Movies including ‘1983’, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ and ‘Mary Kom will also be screened at the Games Village,” said the cultural committee volunteers in the Games Village while talking to Yentha.

The committee is chaired by Soorya Krishnamoorthy whose programmes are also included. The programmes based on the theme of national integration were planned almost six months ago and performances have been scheduled in all districts. The committee brought in almost 2,500 artistes for these events.

The top performances will include the one by Ability Unlimited, a dance group by wheelchair-ridden and hearing and visually impaired artists and another one by Krishnamoorthy himself named ‘Bharatham - Keralam’.

The entry will be free of cost while seats are reserved for the athletes.
