Model School Renovation Project Finalised

Trivandrum: Model school renovation project, a Rs.20 crore project which was announced recently, has been finalised. The project is being mooted by the institute’s alumni with the support of the state government. The major share of the allocated Rs.20 crore is being invested by former student and Infosys ex-CEO Kris Gopalakrishnan.

Thiruvananthapuram MLA, and minister, V S Sivakumar informed the media, “The project is being pushed forward with the support of alumni association. The project has been finalised in a meeting presided by our Chief Minister.”  Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan, Chief Secretary E K Bharat Bhushan and K C Chandrahasan were also present for the meeting.

The project envisaged by the alumni association focuses on 21 key segments of development. Thus the project is aiming to raise the school to international standards. The makeover will be similar to that carried out at Nadakaavu School, Kozhikode. The work will begin from the next academic year onwards.

Model School


The school, resting in an area of 6.5 acres of prime land, is more than a 100 years old. The vintage red building of the school has a heritage of its own and is a perfect specimen of the impressive Gothic architecture. More importantly it is a place where personalities like Krish Gopalakrishnan, E K Bharat Bhushan, Jagathy Sreekumar, Mohanlal and others began their journey to success.
