Model School Project First Phase Gets Go-Ahead

Trivandrum: The Model School renovation project is taking shape pretty fast. The Kerala Government has given Mission Model School 21 C scheme the go-ahead.

“The government has approved the first phase of the prestigious project. The decision was taken in a meeting presided over by CM Oommen Chandy”, informed Minister and Trivandrum MLA V S Sivakumar.

Rs.2 crore has been allocated for the six month long phase. The first phase mainly involves renovation of library and labs and building of smart class rooms. Faculty training and summer holiday classes for students are also on the cards.

Public Education Secretary was made responsible for supervising the progress of the scheme. Minister P K Abdu Rabb, Project Coordinator K C Chandrahasan, School Principal M P Shaji, Headmistress K Urmila Devi and PTA President B Ramesh were the others present at the meeting.



The Rs.40 crore mission, co-funded by several prominent alumni including former Infosys CEO Kris Gopalakrishnan, is expected to be completed in three years’ time. The school is more than 100 years old and its portals have seen the start of many prominent personalities of the state.

Why then is the Govt destroying Attakulangara school which is much older than Model school ?
