‘Kiss Of Love’ - Open Seminar At Press Club

Trivandrum: The past few weeks have seen the uprising of youth all over India against moral policing. ‘Kiss of Love’ has grown into a national movement and it is coming to Trivandrum this weekend.

A five-hour interactive session on ‘Malayalam Cinema-Morality-Kiss’ will be held by ‘Kiss of Love’ group at the Trivandrum Press Club. It will be on December 14, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The session will be discussing the influence of cinema on morality.

Talking to Yentha, Rahul Pasupalan, one of the organisers of ‘Kiss Of Love’ said, “It will be an open seminar in which public can participate. There will be talks by the eminent personalities followed by discussion. Audience can ask questions and provide their opinions. Some of the movie personalities participating in the event are filmmakers Sohanlal, Sajeevan Anthikad and Sudevan. Poet Rajeev Alunkal and actress Sajitha Madathil will also be present. The complete list of personalities is yet to be finalised.”


Apart from this, a Facebook group called ‘KISS AGAINST FASCISM; DO THE DON’TS OF FASCISM’ is organizing an event at Kairali Shree Nila Theatre complex on December 13, 1 p.m. ‘Kiss of Love’ has extended support for this event.


‘Kiss Of Love’ has also launched a 7-day ‘Constitution recital and banana offering’ campaign against Hanuman Sena, who vandalised the ‘Kiss of Love’ protest in Kozhikode, and Kozhikode City Police Commissioner A V George. In the campaign details shared in their Facebook page, the organisers have asked more than 100,000 supporters of the movement to send a banana each to the RSS Karyalay in Kozhikode. Likewise, to send a copy of landmark verdicts and relevant sections of Indian Constitution, which guarantees Freedom of expression, to the Police Commissioner.
