IIT JEE, AIEEE To Be Abolished From 2013
IIT JEE examination for granting admission to IITs may soon be a thing of the past | By Yentha

New Delhi: Admission to the prestigious IITs in India is hereafter likely to be granted by conducting a general aptitude-cum-advanced knowledge test. The government has decided to do away with IIT Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) from 2013 onwards.

The marks scored in the aptitude test would be given 60% weightage while plus two school board marks would be given 40% weightage for deciding the admission list into an IIT. Admissions to all centrally funded institutions will be based on the aptitude test and board marks. The common aptitude test could be given twice a year. Students will also be able to take the test online from 2014.

The test will have two sections – simple aptitude testing to determine the candidate’s ability and an advanced section aspirants can choose not to write.

“It’s good that the exam is in two sections. It’ll reduce our burden and we can concentrate more on specific subjects,” said Meera Mohan, a higher secondary student in Trivandrum.

I Jai Jaiswal , aspirant of IIT JEE would like to ask something about this new change in IIT. 1) This new pattern of exam is approved or not. 2) If student does not get high percentages then he will not get any IITs. 3) Stdents are selected for aptitude test by JEE exam (PCM )or not.

Why all this new development now. It should be introduced for the students now studying in 10th i.e from 2014 and not 2013. So that students who are already in 11th std and preparing for JEE do not suffer

School teacher will black mail students for practical marks. School teacher will give good marks in practical to those student who took tuition from them . So please don't include the practical marks of Class XII.

ISEET has some inevitable outcomes. (1) Increase in organised corruption at school/college level...... (2)Huge number of court cases to bring a stay on ISEET from parents & students as they will feel cheated due to copying & paper leaks.....(3)Competition among states to send more of their students to IIT, for which they will facilitate scoring through easy exams & lenient checking......(4) Lowering of science & maths standards of entire INDIA.
