Heritage Award Announced
The State Archive Department declared The best performing Heritage Club in schools of Kerala | By Yentha

Trivandrum: Government UPS, Parakkal, Venjaramood bagged the first prize with cash award of rupees 25000, Government HSS, Peruvaloor, Malapuram got the second prize with cash award of rupees 15,000 and the third prize was shared by GHSS Rajakad, Idukki and BVKV HSS Valavanoor, Malapuram. A consolation prize of 5000 rupees has been awarded for PPTMYHSSS, Cheroor, Vengara, Malapuram.

 

The Archives Department had invited applicants for the award in early December 2011. The selected schools will be awarded endowments named after Elamkulam Kunjan Pillai, K P Padmanabhan and former Archives Director Dr. N Rajendran respectively for first, second and third prizes.

 

 Heritage Club in Schools were set up by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), a New Delhi based NGO to motivate students to participate in heritage related activities and create awareness among them.

 The activities of the club include heritage conservation and learning local and natural heritage.
