| Trivandrum: Crime statistics in Kerala show that the number
of sexual assaults and rapes are increasing day by day. Women have to be
now very careful about their safety and well-being more than ever.
Being efficient in self-defense techniques would provide them a better
way to escape from assaults and it will also improve their self-esteem
and confidence. Vicky Kapoor, one of the best Krav Maga trainers in the country is here in the city to impart training on the techniques of Krav Maga - a non-competitive martial art and eclectic self-defense system developed in Israel. There are many programmes and seminars that the Kerala chapter of the International Krav Maga Federation (IKMF) will be organising including a seven-day boot camp from August 20-26. Unlike other forms of martial arts, this gives a better idea about the self-defense system especially for real life situations. “We are glad to introduce the world’s best Krav Maga training regimen to Keralites. Individuals can attend sessions on daily basis where the team would provide them training sessions on level P1-P3. You can also attend the camp for seven days. You also have the option of joining for a day or any day, and assess the training and continue only if you so wish. Age, fitness, sex will not be an issue, just that the participant should not have any illness that does not permit any physical activity,” said Anu V Nambalikkaran, head of the IKMF's Kerala chapter. According to the organisers the main intention behind organising this camp is to empower women to potentially avoid an attack without anyone help. “The simple techniques taught in Krav Maga would equip one with physical and mental fitness to face adverse situation. The subject oriented training would help women to react on the spot when an attack occurs. Even if one learns a lot of technique they should know to use it on time. Self-defense is not just about knowing how to throw punches; it is mostly about being wise,” he said. Intensive Krav Maga Training camps have already been successfully done in all major Indian Cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, etc. for many years. Those who desire to be more confident and independent may contact Anu at 94470 79852 or mail KravMagaTrivandrum@gmail.com. Limited seats. So register right away. |
