Trivandrum:  Lalitakala Akademi Gallery at the Vyloppilli Samskrithi Bhavan is hosting an exhibition of paintings by two artists, Babu Namboodiri and Joseph Mathew. These artists reflect on the vivacious phases of men and nature.

Babu Namboodiri who studied Art from the College of Fine Arts, Trivandrum, works as a faculty member in the Department of Painting at Sree Sankaracharya University, Kalady. He expresses the physical reality of life in a delicate manner through his paintings.

“ I love to play with figurative human images. I work in Oil colour, Water colour, Acrylic and Pencil. My experiences in life and my observations have turned into the visuals in my paintings. A work is completed when it is exhibited,” said Namboodiri.

Joseph Mathew who lives and works as an art lecturer in England brings out the feelings and  beauty of the  inner human world in his paintings. He celebrates the joy of life through vibrant colours like red, blue, orange and black. He has used black Indian ink to create action oriented paintings.

Babu Namboodiri’s “Day Dream” explores women in the ancient and modern eras. The other most appreciated paintings of Namboodiri are “Over Tunes Of Affection,” “End Of The Game” and “Resting Under Shades.” Joseph Mathew has adopted “Pullockian” pattern to bring out pleasant memories about nature and the environment.
