Trivandrum: ‘Sketches N’ Bronze’, an exhibition of sketches and sculptures of Usha Ramachandran is being held at Art Gallery, Alliance Francaise de Trivandrum from 16 February.
Usha’s figurines depicting stages of human life and relationships are exhibited as gorgeous bronze sculptures here.
Along with these picture perfect sculptures, sketches created in charcoal and soft pastels on the scenes which have captured her mind during her journeys are also displayed in the exhibition.

“I started learning art in my sixties. I did it out of my passion. I’m a very sensitive person. All my works are inspired from my daily life. The books I read, the films I watch and the visuals which attracted me in magazines, streets and in different places,” said Usha.
Usha Ramachandran is a self taught artist from Trivandrum. She has won Kerala Lalithakala Akademi award for Sculpture in 2010. The exhibition was inaugurated by N N Rimzon and will conclude on March 2. |
