Contemporary Theatre 'Reaches-Out'
Fourth International Theatre Festival of Kerala (ITFoK) to showcase six dramas each in Trivandrum and Calicut | By Yentha

Trivandrum: The Reach-Out Festival conducted along the sidelines of the International Theatre Fest will be held from Feb 2 – 7 here at the Karthika Tirunal Theatre. Brought to life by renowned directors and brilliantly choreographed by famous theatre groups, riveting dramas from Kolkata, Chennai and Jodhpur arrive at the state capital to engage and entertain viewers with unique flavours of our diverse culture.

The Reach-Out Festival in Trivandrum and Calicut are being organized for the first time as part of the 4th edition of the International Theatre Festival of Kerala (ITFoK) held annually at Thrissur. The festival is being conducted by Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi in association with the Information and Public Relations department.

The six day festival will take off with the drama Malavikagnimithram, Kalidasa’s first play that portrays a gripping tale of love and romance. The great classic has been transported to the stage by Sopanam Institute of Performing Arts, Trivandrum and directed by theatre veteran and poet Kavalam Narayana Panicker.

 

 

February 3 will have the Ensemble Group from Bangalore performing Afterlife of Birds directed by Abhishek Majumdar. Manganiar Concert from Rupayan Sanstahan directed by Kuldeep Kothari from Jodhpur will be played on February 4. The Interview directed by Akarsh Khurana from Mumbai Akvarious Productions will be featured on February 5. Molagapodi from Chennai Kattiyakkari Drama Group, directed by Srijith Sundaram will be performed on February 6. Chandalika from Kolkatta Rankakarmee directed by Usha Ganguli will bring the curtain down on the last day of the event.
