Movie Review: Agneepath (Hindi) - Will Burn Up Theaters For Sure
Excellent cinematography, fabulous editing and music that actually enhances the movie experience are the other factors which make Agneepath stand head and shoulders above the mediocre films churned out by Bollywood these days | By Neil Xavier

After all the Dons and Ra.Ones it was indeed a great relief to see a good Hindi movie. The much awaited Agneepath, a remake of the critically acclaimed 1990 Amitabh Bachchan starrer of the same name, is remarkable indeed. I haven’t watched the original movie; only heard quite a lot about its excellence. And that is why, the new Agneepath proved to be a very novel experience for me.
Hrithik Roshan as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, Sanjay Dutt as Kancha the villain, Rishi Kapoor as Rauf Lala, Prinyanka Chopra as Kali, Zareena Wahaab as Suhasini Chauhan, Om Puri as Inspector Gaitonde and Chetan Pandit as Master Deenanath, seasoned actors that they are, transform expertly into the characters most convincingly; but it was child artist Arish Bhiwandiwala (who played the young Vijay)) who left me awestruck with his performance. ![]() Agneepath glues you to your seats from the very beginning and yes it is one of the most well shot flashback stories that I have watched. The color shades of each frame, the dressing, the way the dialogues are written and the background score give you a one of a kind experience. From there, the movie just gets better and better. ![]() I really don’t want to give away the story line of the movie. But this movie is definitely one which shows a son’s love for his dad. And the way it is shown is simply mind blowing.

![]() Excellent cinematography, fabulous editing and music that actually enhances the movie experience are the other factors which make Agneepath stand head and shoulders above the mediocre films churned out by Bollywood these days. Chikni Chameli is definitely driving the audience crazy, and the soulful Sonu Nigum number is quite touching.
Agneepath has some great emotional scenes which move you without resorting to the maudlin, the screenplay is crisp and the direction by Karan Malhotra, Karan Johar’s assistant is unbelievably good. The climax scene just carries you away, and you forget the fact that things get quite dramatic in the climax. But a movie of this kind wouldn’t be good enough without a bit of drama. I definitely enjoyed this 3.15 hours movie and would recommend all to watch it for the very different experience. Let me go for 8/10 for Agneepath. It’s fire all the way!
