The Kochi-based band Kaav, which released their three-track music album ‘EP’ in September, is moving up the charts, and into the music-lovers’ hearts.

The band, based on Vypin Island, is a three-piece instrumental progressive rock band with Syam N Pai on guitar, Shabeer P Ali on bass and Arun S Kumar on drums.

Kaav, by definition is a sacred grove dense with fear, mysteries, superstitions and stories.

EP, their music album, begins with post rock and progressive ‘daya’, the video of which is a must-watch to get the first right picturesque impression of their music.

The second track is ‘psyche’, which is the serene song of EP, starting with the sounds of waves gushing in, accentuated by some resonant drums and docent tunes of guitar.

The third track,’kettukatha’, is the longest number of the album. It starts with and maintains a sort of calmness for the first few minutes and then picks up a certain pace.

The band is really making its way to the listeners’ hearts with its slight Indian-ness. It is a young band with promising talent. The songs can be downloaded from their official website  www.kaav.in.
