Yentha Pookkalaayiram Contest A Grand Success
In an exciting contest Hotel Keys, University College Of Engineering and Holy Angels' HSS emerge winners | By Yentha

Kowdiar, Trivandrum: In a mouse-slamming finish, Hotel Keys, University College of Engineering and Holy Angels' HSS have emerged winners of the first online athapookalam contest.

Organised by Yentha to add spice to Onam celebrations, the contest has proved to be a runaway success going by the enthusiasm and zest with which the participants garnered their votes.

Participants had to send in a picture of their athapookkalam and the photos were put in our site for a public voting.

Participants for the contest were put under three categories – Organisations, Schools and Colleges. The response has been encouraging, and inspiring.

We were received well at all the places that we took this competition to and everyone showed equal enthusiasm to be a part of this first-of-its-kind competition.

Organisations

Athapookkalam from Hotel Keys, Thampanoor


Hotel Keys, Thampanoor (Organisations) with 786 votes, emerged the winner in the ‘Organisations’ category. Kerala Institute of Medical Science (KIMS) with 561 votes is the first runner up and Prince Jewellery, East Fort, with 176 votes is the second runner up among the 30-odd organisations that took part in the competition.

Colleges

Athapookkalam from University College Of Engineering, Kariyavattom

 

University College Of Engineering, Kariyavattom, (Colleges) with 828 votes is the winner among colleges with Mohandas College of Engineering and Technology with 785 votes as the first runner up and SCT College Of Engineering and Technology with 262 votes as the second runner up.

Schools

Athapookkalam from Holy Angels' HSS, General Hospital Jn.


Holy Angels' HSS (General Hospital Jn.) with 1177 votes outnumbered the other schools in the ‘Schools’ category. Christ Nagar International School with 896 votes and Christ Nagar English Hr. Sec School with 522 votes, were the first and the second runner ups in the category.

Overall

Since the contest opened for public voting on Aug. 27, one after the other, votes started flowing in, and a grand total of 11,850 votes were registered when we closed the link at 6 pm on Sept. 11.

All the winners of the contest will be sent a notification.

Also, there will be an event to felicitate the winners, the date of which will be communicated soon.
