Kowdiar, Trivandrum: Another unofficial holiday beckons Malayalees to enjoy. This time the Nation-wide strike has been announced on September 7 by a group of Trade Unions working in the country.

The different trade unions like CITU, INTUC, AITUC, STU, AIUTUC, HMS and others are joining hands for some common causes. These unions are jointly conducting this strike against the recent price hikes and to initiate the government to make appropriate decisions to protect the recession stricken employment areas.

MM Lawerence, CITU General Secretary said that the strike is meant to have no other political agendas, as the group has raised some common grievances any government should address. The unions from the state will take part in the strike.

He also cleared that this strike won’t turn into any Bandh or Hartal.
