Shangumugham Palace Gets A Digital Makeover
A museum of paintings on Travancore history, touch-screen, photo gallery are some features | By Yentha

Shangumugham,Trivandrum: The renovated Shanghumugam Palace, which Minister for Tourism Kodiyeri Balakrishnan inaugurated yesterday, is in tune with digital generation.

The palace now has a museum housing paintings describing the history of Travancore. A touch-screen gives visitors information on the places in Travancore. There is also a photo-gallery of the palace.

 

The renovation works of the palace including the re-plastering of the damaged walls, replacing of the corroded windowpanes and doors, the renovation of the floors and roofs, has been completed on a Rs. 28 lakh budget.

 

Mayor C Jayan Babu presided over the function, while M Vijayakumar, minister for Law and Public Works, was the chief guest. V Surendran Pillai, V Sivan Kutty MLA were also present at the function.
