Cut Flowers On Display
Spectrum 2010, in addition to orchid exhibition, includes a seminar on the potential of cut flower cultivation in Kerala | By Yentha

Vellayambalam, Trivandrum: Spectrum 2010, an exhibition of cut flower hybrids is being held at the Little Flower Hall, Bishop Palace Compound here. It is organised by the Kerala Cut Flower Producers Society (KCFPS) along with NABARD to promote cut flower cultivation in Kerala.  The exhibition showcases cut flower plants and floral arrangements in various styles done by the growers of the KCFPS.  

KC Shashidhar, Chief General Manager of NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) inaugurated the five-day event.

The programme includes a seminar on the potential of cut flower cultivation in Kerala on September 10, a technical session starting at 11 am, chaired by resource persons from Agricultural College, Vellayani and the TBGRI (Tropical Botanic Garden & Research). Talks on government support for development of floriculture and world scenario for cut flower trade will be held later in the evening. There will be a flower arrangement competition on September 11, open to public, and the event comes to a close on September 12. Registration can be done on the spot.
