Kowdiar, Trivandrum: Air India has called back Gulf bound flights, which were cancelled due to shortage of cabin crew. Air India PRO Aby George confirmed that they had received information from Air India MD on the same. The flights that were cancelled from September 13 to September 30 are the ones to be reinstated.

The authorities have also said that if there is a rush of travellers during this time, they would introduce flights with more number of seats to accommodate the passengers.

About 203 flights (73 from Kozhikode, 74 from Thiruvananthapuram and 56 from Kochi) were cancelled earlier by the authorities. The cancellations were to be made effective only after the first two weeks of September, which is the peak traffic time for most Malayalis owing to the re-opening of schools in the Gulf.

Riya Travels, a leading Travel Agency in Trivandrum revealed that AI Express cancellations will affect close to 40,000 people. AI had also announced full refund or change of flights for the tickets booked in the cancelled flights.
