Any fool with a camera can stand near a waste dump and click photos. I think this is just a sample and he can get 100s of photos even for one day. But does he have the courage & willingness to clear this mess up & beautify the place so that nobody dumps waste again in this place. These people have been driven to act like this by our irresponsible Govt who doesnt even have a plan or method for waste disposal for the city.

Deepesh: Well said Deepesh. There are people who have been featured on Yentha who have shown the courage. We have highlighted their stories too. We are in total agreement with what you have said. Let's do something to change the status quo. In fact some of us are meeeting up at the Yentha office on Sat (tomorrow) at 6 p.m. to discuss this. Would you like to join us?

Nice work yentha. I would have loved to take part in this exercise but I am out of town. But this is a very good community initiative from your side. I think you should publish the details of this meeting and also inform the details/contact so that other people including me can also get involved based upon availability. We should get the list of these spots in Trivandrum and make a plan to transform them.

@ Kapil ... Read your comment.... I liked your enthusiasm to mail those pics to corporation, police and govt. website... When reading your comment, I felt that its that car owner who made all that pile up of garbage....Don't talk/write stupidly without knowing the real facts and situations. There are thousands of family in our city who live in flats or those who cant dumb/burn their garbage in their own plots. Tell me what those ppl would do?... If you are so generous, then go buy an acre in a remote place and transport all those garbage there....

There is another paddy field in Trivandrum city. The paddy field of Udiyannur Devi Temple in Maruthankuzhy.

It is the most important issue in my opinion. Temperature is already showing phenomenal rise.If trees are cut down, the residents will suffer a lot in the coming years. Govt should also plan to plant shady trees(neem) in and around the city.

Environment degradation by cutting trees should be stopped immediately. EIA should be carried out for every project in earnest.
